Yemen Airways Company inaugurated Thursday travel insurance service for passengers on board of its aircrafts, undertaken by United Insurance Company and run internationally by Spanish Mapfre Asistencia Company.
In inauguration celebration, Deputy General Director of Yemen Airways for Commercial Affairs Othman al-Qubati pointed out that inauguration of this service represents an advanced step for the company to enhance its relationship with the passengers.He pointed out that the insurance coverage lasts for 9 or 10 days after arrival of the passenger if he has a one-way ticket only, and 92 days in the case of the passenger has a return ticket.
"The company is always keen to insure passengers in airports and while walking to the access point, but this service will give passengers an additional insurance advantage", al-Qubati said.
Al-Qubati indicated that this step is a part of the company's modernization and development plan, which the company began applying it during the last period, to maintain its competitive position in the regional and international market.To develop its fleet , the company has signed a deal to buy 10 A350 Airbus airplanes in which first delivery to be begun in 2015 and an agreement during last month to purchase 10 A320 Airbus aircrafts, in which delivery will be started during the first quarter of 2011 , al-Qubati pointedFor his part, General Director of United Insurance Company Tariq Anam indicated that inaugurating this service would enhance Yemen Airways position to offer the best services to cope with the great development in the aviation industry.He noted that the travel insurance has become a mandatory document to travel to some countries, as the case is for many European countries, where this document is a prerequisite for obtaining an entry visa.
