n cooperation with NIIT's Education Center in Yemen, Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Services (SMEPS) at Social Fund for Development (SFD) organized on Thursday in Sana'a a workshop for businesswomen on Business Edge.
The SMEPS was established by the SFD to address the needs of business services for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).The SMEPS's mission is to be a leader in facilitating BDS to the SME sector through providing practical and creative strategies for SME diversity and growthSome 60 Yemeni businesswomen participated in the workshop, which focused on means of dealing with problems facing the SMEs.In a statement to Saba, the NIIT Director in Yemen Abdullah Sofan said that workshop aimed at spreading the knowledge among businesswomen about how to benefit from Business Edge program, which provides the practical solutions for problems facing the small and medium enterprises.Sofan added that the political leadership has encouraged a trend of setting up such adventures as well as support businesswomen to bring their projects into success.The NIIT’s Business Edge target groups are government, corporations, small and medium enterprises, individuals seeking jobs in the country, and Individuals seeking jobs outside the country, he said.He also made it clear that Yemen Businessmen Club (YBC) would launch a pioneer project for businesswomen in coming year to help businesswomen to know more about business environment.It is worth mentioning that the NIIT's Education Center in Yemen is a leading IT Training provider that focuses on blending its IT training service with Business Management flavors through Business Edge.Business Edge is the brand name for International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) international range of management training products and services, specially designed for owners and managers of the SMEs.
