Anticorruption authority, UNDP discuss directory to monitor public revenues

Member of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC) Yassin Abdeh Saeed emphasized the importance of involving civil society organisations in anticorruption programmes and enhancement of the values of integrity and transparency. During his opening of a workshop on Monday organized by the SNACC in Sana’a and in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for the discussion of a Directory on Monitoring Public Revenues and their Usage, Saeed has stressed the importance of the harmony of the directory with the direction of the country towards combating corruption and engagement of local societies , pointing out that the SNACC has prepared a national strategy for combating corruption in active partnership of different official sides concerned with mentoring and fighting corruption and participation of civil society and the media and international organisations that are partners in fighting corruption. He added that the Commission would announce the strategy before the end of this year. Mr Saeed said the programme of supporting transparency in the media and the civil society that the Commission carried out under support by the UNDP resulted in training civil society organisations and media persons.For his part the director of the UNDP programmes on supporting the media and civil society organisations Hassan Mujahid al-Ansi praised keenness of the member of the SNACC on building a partnership relationship wit different civil society organisations and the media and on producing results of the project of supporting the media and the civil society organisations in supporting transparency in the form that is in harmony with tendencies of Yemen in fighting corruption.
