Defense minister Mohammed Nasser Ahmed paid on Monday visits to some military units in the northern province of Saada where an offensive the army launched against the Houthi insurgents in August is ongoing. Ahmed was briefed on the military operations and the readiness level of troops. He hailed progress they are making in the fight against the rebels and subversives who have been fighting the security forces since 2004.Congratulating troops on Eid al-Adha and the November 30 Day, Ahmed urged more vigilance to impose the rule of law and restore security and peace to all Saada areas."I am confident an end to the rebellion is close, particularly after you, the security forces, have severely hit those breaking law and national values," he told troops."They (rebels) are losing their strength and have now become dismissed by the people who understand the Houthi have committed illegal acts and made risky decisions. There is a big row in the rebel leadership as well and I assure you their end is close."
