After two years of extensive argument the Yemeni parliament began
Tuesday considering amendments on the law regulating carrying and
possession of firearms and ammunition and trading in them in prelude to
discuss its approval.
According to report by the parliamentary committee of defence and security studying amendments of the law aims t regulating carrying and possessing personal firearms inside the capital and provincial capitals of governorates and cities in Yemen. That will be defined by decision of the minister of interior or the side he empowers to issue licenses of possession or trading or importing personal weapons or fireworks explosives.
The law also regulates importation and selling and buying as well as repairing and storing weapons, ammunition and fireworks used in implementing development projects. It regulates supervising, monitoring and licensing for transporting them and be sure they are used for the purposes they have been licensed for.
