Mahrah governor meets WB delegation

MAHRRAH, Nov. 23 (Saba)- Maharah governor Ali Khawdam met on Monday a delegation of the World Bank who is currently visiting the province to discuss a project of rehabilitating infrastructure in the regions of the province, which was hit by flooding last October of 2008. In the meeting, the governor affirmed needs for studies to benefit from waters of flooding to serve agricultural sector in the province, wishing all the best for the delegation in the mission in the province.The head of the WB delegation said that the mission aims at knowing damages, adding that the bank allocated 5 million dollar to rehabilitate the control system of floods.Recently the governor also held a meeting with Director of Reconstruction Fund's branch for flood-affected areas in Mahrah governorate ,Jamal ba Zarah, the fund's activities in the governorate.The meeting dealt with the coordination areas between the local authority and the fund's administration to implement the fund's missions and its plan for disbursing the recompenses to the flood-affected people in the governorate especially in housing, agriculture and fish sectors.Technical committees have been formed to review the compensations in those sectors in preparation for paying them, ba Zarah made it clear.He indicated that the first payment of the partial recompenses, YR70.890 million, was paid for 156 cases, while the remnant of payment, YR 219.981 million would be paid during the coming days to 600 cases
