Save the Children is to celebrate next Thursday its 90th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the Child Rights Convention, Save the Children declared on Wednesday.
In a press release, the organization said that it will organize an awareness raising celebration in Sana'a with the participation of children, Yemeni officials and representatives of donors , media , NGOs.“During the celebration, children will call on their parents, community and decision makers to have a better life based on the Child Rights Convention ratified by Yemen in1991”, Save the Children made it clear.Meanwhile, the organization held a two-day workshop on Nov. 17- 18 with the participation of the present and previous members of the Children's Parliament.The workshop aimed to define the impact of Children's Parliament on children in the country and to develop its works and activities for protecting child rights.The Country Director of Save the Children in Yemen, Andrew Moore stated that “through its 90 years, Save the Children has built on its legacy and been a leading voice for children's rights, which are as important today as ever”."We believe in our future and we believe in the future of children's rights– now it's time to make these rights a reality." Moore explained.Save the Children has been operating in Yemen since 1963 and has been working together with government, ministries, Higher Council of Motherhood and Childhood, donors, partners, teachers, parents, youth and children to have a better life based on the Child Rights
