UNICEF's support to childhood in Hadramout discussed

The UNICEF's support to childhood in Hadramout province was discussed on Tuesday, particularly in the training and educational fields and developing abilities of cadres working in these two fields .
This came during the meeting of Undersecretary of Hadramout province Ahmed al-Jonaid with UNICEF's Representative in Yemen Abdo Karim Adbjawi and Coordinator of the United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS Fawziah Gharama.The two UN officials reviewed activities and support offered by UNICEF and the UN Joint Program on HIV/AIDS in fields of health, education, water and sanitation as well as the big efforts exerted by the organization to contribute to overcoming the effects of flood and heavy rains witnessed by Hadramout in October,2008.Furthermore, the meeting dealt with the province's needs for 2010 to be included within the organization's program to support the primary education in Socotra Island and provide the province's requirements in the other development areas.For his part, al-Jonaid praised the big efforts exerted by UNICEF in supporting a lot of life aspects in the province and its readiness to continue its support to include the training and educational fields.
