Assistant secretary General for Political Affairs of the ruling General People's Congress (GPC) Party, the Head of the GPC's parliamentary bloc Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani confirmed on Sunday that the armed forces and the security, rallying behind them the Yemeni people, are inflicting on the Houthi elements of sabotage and terror successive defeats, emphasizing that the victory over those elements has become close. Al-Barakani added that the armed forces and the security are scoring great victories against those elements that committed the ugliest aggressions and crimes through explosions and kidnapping sons of the province of Saada and Harf Sufyan.Talking to the Yemeni students studying in different Algerian universities and institutes , al-Barakani said the Houthi elements of destruction and terror and those following their orbit of advocates of secessionism entertain an illusion that they could return the wheel of history and forgetting the great sacrifices the Yemeni people offered to achieve the two revolutions of 26 September and 14 October that uprooted the imamate regime and colonization, then the unity , democracy, development , progress and comprehensive renascence were achieved in the modern Yemen.He said time has exceeded and exiled those who call for secession with all their corrupt beliefs on the day when the people declared their will on 22 May 1990 and enhanced that on the 7th of July 1994.Sheikh al-Barakani also valued the heroic role of the armed forces and the security that are teaching the outlaws the severest lessons , adding that victory on them has become near by virtue of the people's rally behind President Ali Abdullah Saleh , the leader of the homeland and maker of the unity .For their part, the Yemeni students affirmed their standing as one rank in support of the principle of the national alignment called by president Ali Abdullah Saleh and declared they are soldiers for the homeland whenever its needs them
