Government sources said Tuesday that European Union delegation headed
by European External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero Waldner and
director of Middle East and Arab Gulf
Affairs would arrive in Sana'a next Saturday in a working visit during which there will be signing of the European Development Support Program decided to be offered to Yemen amounting to 78 million euros.
The European Commission has recently announced raising ceiling of the annual support for Yemen to 72 million euros for the period 2006-2010 at an increase amounting to 12 million euros compared to its pledges at London donor conference.
The European delegation is scheduled also to hold talks with senior Yemeni government officials as it would meet the Prime Minister Dr Mujawar, the deputy premier for economic affairs, minister of planning and international cooperation, the foreign minister Dr Al-Qirbi and a number of other officials in the government.
