Japan to double aid to Yemen since 2009

Japanese Ambassador in Sana'a Masakazu Toshikage said on Tuesday that the official Japanese support presented to Yemen would be doubled since the current year.
his came after signing the $52,800 agreement between Japanese government and Yemen-Japan Friendship Association (YJFA) for improving Japanese language leaning in the association.The $52,800 grant would be used to equip further classes in the association and purchase equipments for teaching Japanese language and enabling more students to join the association.The Japanese ambassador affirmed his government's keenness on supporting the development in Yemen especially in fields of basic education, health, water, electricity and sea security.He said that Japan always interested in enhancing the Yemeni-Japanese cooperation areas in the cultural field via organizing the cultural weeks in Sana'a, praising the bilateral relations level between the two friendly countries.For his part, Athban valued the Japanese government's efforts to support YJFA through providing it with the cultural books, pointing that the number of students in the association exceeded 100 students.
