The cabinet approved on Tuesday cutting a day-pay from the state employees' salaries for October 2009 to support the relief efforts for the displaced and war-affected people in Saada and Amran provinces. The cabinet affirmed that this decision does not include the central and local institutions that already cut a day-pay from its employees' salaries for the displaced relief, directing Ministers of Local Administration and Finance to take the necessary actions in this respect. On the other hand, the cabinet reviewed a report on operations of receiving and lodging the displaced due to the rebellion war in Saada province, indicating the current coordination with the international organizations in this field and the role of local authority in Hajjah province in following up the displaced affairs. The report noted the visit of UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs to the displaced camps in Hajja province and his admiration for the preparation level for the camps and the level of humanitarian care and service presented there. The cabinet urged the ministerial committee on controlling the displaced lodging operations to go on in its work mechanism and arrangements to fulfill the necessary requirements resulting from the displacement of the war-affected people to the camps.
