Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi returned on Saturday, along with the accompanying delegation, to Sana'a after taking part in the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund which took place in the Turkish city, Istanbul, recently.
In a statement to Saba, the minister said that the meetings discussed a number of issues such as the financial reforms and developments of the international financial crisis as well as its impacts on economies of the world countries, in addition to other issues.
He noted that he met, on the sidelines of the meetings, with a number of WB officials and reviewed with them the bilateral relations and means of reinforcing and developing them as well as support for Yemen for development projects. For his part, Minister of Finance Numan al-Suhaibi, who also took part in the WB meetings, made clear that he also met with Head of the Middle East and Central Asia Department in the IMF Mas'oud Ahmed and acquainted him with decision of the Yemeni government to identify priorities of the coming period and the procedures have been taken in this regard.He pointed out that Mas'oud showed readiness of the IMF to provide the required support for economic and financial efforts in Yemen
