SANA'A, Nov. 28 (Saba)- Net foreign assets of the banking system
amounted to YR 1641.5 billion at the end of October 2006 compared with
YR 1604.9billion at the end of September 2006, an increase of 2.0%, the
centralbank of Yemen reported.
According to the report, the money supply increased from YR 1252.3 billion at the end of September 2006 to YR 1293.8 billion at the end of October 2006, an increase of 3.32% compared with an increase of or 5.61% duringSeptember 2006. Money supply at the end of October 2005 was YR 1012.2 billion, the report said.
Balance Sheet of Central Bank Total balance sheet of Central Bank showed an increase of YR 25.9 billion or 1.74% amounting to YR 1512.8 billion during October 2006 compared with an increase of 0.81% during the previous month.
Total balance sheet was YR 1191.1 billion at the end of October 2005.
The total of the consolidated balance sheet of the commercial and Islamic banks showed an increase of YR 20.9 billion or 2.14% amounting to YR 1001.4billion during October 2006 compared with an increase of 3.26% during September 2006.
