Yemen to represent MENA in meetings of WB's DC and IPCC

Yemen is to represent Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in the meetings of the World Bank (WB)'s Development Committee (DC), the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Renewable Energy Fund.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi said that Yemen has been chosen as a representative for MENA in the special meetings of DC , IPCC and the Renewable Energy Fund within the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Speaking to Saba, Al-Arhabe affirmed that choosing Yemen represents the international appreciation for Yemen's achievements in field of applying reforms as well as its effective role in enhancing the regional stability. He pointed out that the WB's DC hold semiannual meetings for discussing the developments in the regional and international levels and making visions and special mechanisms to support the World's poorest countries. A Yemeni delegation headed by al-Arhabi is to take part in the annual meetings of the WB Group and IMF to be held in Istanbul on 4-8 October, 2009.
