Yemeni inventor awarded WIPO prize

The UN World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has awarded the WIPO Gold Medal for the Yemeni inventor Samir Saif Hanoni for his invention of a new model for water drainage floating pump.
This WIPO prize is considered the biggest prize in the world awarded in the field of invention as it goes to the best world inventor.Hanoni is one of the working staff at the Water and Sanitation Corporation in Aden who is currently preparing his PhD in one of the Netherlands' universities. He was also granted a diploma certificate by the Association of Hungarian Inventors in appreciation of his vital activities in the field of invention.In a statement to Saba, Hanoni made clear that the idea of his invention comes from the floating pump in a new way to expand usage and benefit circle through accordion pipes.Hanoni's participation comes in the 7th International Invention Fair called "GENIUS-EUROPE " which was held in the Hungary capital, Budapest, during 9- 13 September, 2009 with the participation of other Arab countries; Egypt, Syria and Jordan
