Indonesian President's envoy visits Hadramout

Indonesian President's envoy Alawi Bin Shihab, currently visiting Yemen, got acquainted on Sunday with the archeological and historical sites in the historical cities of Sayoun and Tarim in eastern province of Hadramout.
During the visit, Undersecretary of Hadramout province Ahmed al-Jonied discussed with Bin Shihab the historical relations between Yemen and Indonesia, noting the deep-rooted brotherly ties between the two peoples.The meeting dealt with the diverse investment opportunities which are available in Hadramout province.Bin Shihab expressed his admiration for what he saw in the two cities from historical instances that tell about the Yemeni people history and their contribution in developing human civilizations and spreading Islam in different areas in the world especially in the south-east Asia areas and Indonesia.Bin Shihab also paid a visit to Rebat Tarim Islamic Institute and Dar al-Mustafa Institute for Islamic Studies in Tarim city, pointing to the two educational institutions' role in teaching Islam sciences.He confirmed that choosing Tarim as the Islamic Culture Capital for 2010 matches with the role of Tarim people and role of its Islamic schools.
