Yemen is set to take part in the emergency meeting on swine flu to be held Saturday in Kuwait that will gather health officials from the Arabian Gulf states and Yemen Director general of the Disease Combat and Pandemic Monitor Department at the ministry of Public Health and Population Abdul Hakim al-Kuhlani flew on Friday for the meeting that will focus on reviewing precautionary measures taken by the Arabian Gulf states and Yemen to face the pandemic. The meeting will also deal with recommendations necessary at land borders where pilgrims will go for and be back from pilgrimage this year, ways to use anti-flu vaccines and measures to be taken as the new school year nears. The pandemic has spread in the countries but not widely, with few deaths linked to the disease reported in some states. In July, Arab health ministers met and agreed people aged over 65 and under 12, and those with chronic diseases, would be prevented from entering Saudi Arabia to take part in the main Hajj pilgrimage this year.
