PM: Government concerns to improve performance of traffic department

Prime Minister Ali Mujawar affirmed on Monday concern of the government to support traffic department to improve its performance.
In the closing session of the meeting for directors of traffic department through the country, Mujawar said that the traffic department is one of key sectors, which their duties to insure order in roads and protect the society from risks for traffic accidents.He urged to gathering efforts to bring an end and take legal actions against violators of traffic law and rules especially bicyclists.The prime minister pointed out to the statistics of the ministry of interior over traffic accidents for ten years ago which stated around 22,000 died due to 122,00 traffic accidents and 150,000 injured due to these accidents as well as YR 77 billion material losses.He affirmed importance of gathering and coordination efforts of the concerned bodies and society to apply requirements of the traffic safety, indicating to the need to double program of raise awareness among the drivers over rules and morals of driving.Mujawar highlighted efforts of traffic police and other forces of the ministry of interior in strengthening security and stability in the nation, saying that the recommendations of the meeting would receive consideration of the government.
