Hadramout's Commercial and Industrial Chamber (HCIC) and German Association for (G-T-Z) Development have organized a symposium yesterday on commercial arbitration.
The symposium which was attended by many justices, lawyers, and businessmen, aimed at identifying the procedures of the commercial arbitration.
Speaking in the opening session, Mr Awdh Hatim,the second in command of Hadramout Governorate said " Yemen has a rich heritage with commercial arbitration and it is of great importance for this great heritage to be studied "
Mr.Hatim thanked the HCIC and G-T-Z for arranging this symposium and he reiterated the local authority support to the recommendations of the symposium.
The Deputy Chief of HCIC, Mr.Abubaker Musalim; Justice Dawood Almushari, the Head of the Commercial Court in Mukalla and Ms Jabrika, an expert working with the G-T-Z delivered speeches in which they agreed upon the importance of the commercial arbitration in solving cases fast and saving time and effort.
Lawyer Majidi Mubark presented a paper which he elaborated on the concept and kinds of arbitration.
At the end of the symposium, the HCIC adopted establishing a commercial arbitration center for settling the commercial cases.
