More than a Million Hits to Hadhramaut.info in October

Mukalla, 8 Nov 2006 – For the first time since its launch in May 2005, Hadhramaut’s official website (Hadhramaut.info) have received 1,068,916 hits within one month. "We didn't expect to have this number of hits on one month," Mr. Anwar Basaloom said in an interview with Mukalla Radio. "The increasing number of visitors to the website is attributed to the interactive services that the website provides like the Governor's e-mail in which the Governor himself responds to questions from viewers and the latest interactive service of having visitors’ opinions on issues of great importance to their lives" he added.
About future plans, Mr. Basloom said that Hadhramaut Websites Network is going to add some more exciting features which will surprise visitors. "We are going to publish all the interviews we did with great figures of Hadhrami music such as Dr. Abu Baker Salim Balafageeh, Khalid Almulla and Ali Bin Mohammed".
The chief editor has also added that the network will launch many websites designed especially for Hadhramaut districts.
According to statistics, the highest number of visitors comes from five out of 76 countries, these are: Saudi Arabia, United Arab of Emirates, the US, Morocco and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Hadhramaut.info was launched at the beginning of May, 2005 during the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of Yemen’s unification which the Governorate hosted.
The website which provides information in three languages (Arabic, English and Indonesian) is sponsored by the Local Authority in the Governorate of Hadhramaut. It is the first project of its kind in the Republic of Yemen.<br> It aims to be Hadhramaut's window to the world.
