Yemen preps for World Population Day

Yemen will mark Saturday the World Population Day, holding activities under the
theme Response to the Global Economic Crisis……Investment in Woman a brilliant
choice'. The day falls July 11. Yemen celebrates the day in one
of its 20 provinces, with activities on productive health and ways of family
planning being held every year. Other activities on population-related issues
and efforts and ways to deal with them are held as well. Yemen faces an
increasing population growth, with recent reports suggesting that its population
increases by 700.000 a year.
Yemen's population now is estimated at
between 21-23 million.
