National committee for encountering threat of swine flu outbreak discussed in a meeting held Monday the emergency national plan to raise readiness to prevent swine flue (H1N1 virus) spread.The plan aims to prevent Yemen from swine influenza spread through enhancing the precautionary health measures in focusing on active epidemiological surveillance based on modern techniques with regards to taking necessary procedures to prevent the disease spread among people in the country.The system of epidemiological surveillance will enable to detect the virus entry early as well as to develop the capacity of Ministry of Public Health and Population in the aspects of preventive measures.The meeting which was chaired Prime Minister Ali Mujawar reviewed reports of Public Health and Population Minister on the actions undertaken by the Ministry to confront the global HIV pandemicIn this regard, some hospitals were provided with about 36 new devices to measure temperature of arrivals via the airport to ensure they are free of the N1H1 virus to enhance the hospitals' capacity as well as training cadres working in air and sea outlets to recognize any suspected case.The meeting noted to the provision of the necessary medicines for nearly 67 thousand cases and Public Health Ministry will provide more for 100 thousand in case the disease entered the country.
