The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and the International Center for economical Insect Physiology of the United Nations today in Sanaa, the drafted agreemtn was on honey production amd planting of date palm in the provinces of Hadramaut and Mahara cost 500 thousand dollars in funding from the Islamic Development Bank According to the agreement, the Center is to provide honey cells to communities to solve the honey producers, affected last year by the disastrous floods year The Ministryalso signed another agreement with the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) of the League of Arab States to the Convention on the implementation of a project to replant palm trees in the provinces of Hadhramaut and Al- Mahara at a cost 500 thousand dollars funded from the Islamic Development Bank The agreement guaranteed that the center will provide date palm varities suitable for the environment in the province. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation sector development of agricultural production engineer Abdulmalik Al-thour indicated to the Yemen News Agency (SABA), that the signing of the agreements is part of the financial grant provided by the Islamic Development Bank to Yemen, the amount of one million dollars to finance the production of honey and of palm dtes implantation in the provinces of Hadramout and Al-mahra conting 500 thousand dollars each project, is scheduled to begin implementation in June this year, for a period of one year. He pointed to the importance of the two projects comes within the Ministry's strategy for the development and the productivity of the agricultural sector in Yemen as well as to strengthen its role in achieving food security
