Preparations got underway for a public-private sector
conference that would be dedicated to discussing ways to promote the partnership between the two sectors and the topic of national economic self-reliance.
Director General of the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mohammed al-Maitami said a Yemeni-international committee has started necessary arrangements for the event which will provide the opportunity to lay solid foundations for national economic dynamism in addition to promoting the investment climate.The committee includes members from the ministries of Planning and International Cooperation, Finance and Industry and Trade besides representatives from the Investment Authority, the World Bank, the International Labor Organization, the European Union, the German Technical Cooperation GTZ and the International Finance Corporation.He made clear the conference will also work to mobilize national resources to establish a sustainable economic development as well as attracting foreign capitals into the country.Repercussions of the global economic crisis, which left the government and the private sector assert significance to turn to home to build sustainable economic development, would be raised in the conference, he said.
