SANA'A, Oct. 25 (Saba)- Sana'a will host the Investment Conference which to be held next February.
"The conference is expected to attract investments and business that worth US $ 5-7 billion," director of the General Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr. Mohammed al-Mitami said.
Dr. al-Mitami added that the conference aims to attract investments to Yemen in different fields especially the Gulf countries investments. The conference is organized by Yemen and the Secretariat of Gulf Cooperation Council.
Dr. al-Mitami, head of the Yemeni side in the preparatory committee for the conference, said that the Yemeni side prepared a list of the
available investment chances in Yemen.
He said that the conference will focus in some topics, firstly it will promote for the available investment chances, and secondly it will showthe enhancement of investmental environment in Yemen.
He said that a workshop will be organized late of this month to review commitments of the government in tackling some obstacles facing investment climate in the country and the visions of private sector to better the investmental environment.
Regarding industries sector he said that the government has a plan to enhance this sector by setting up industrial zones in Aden, Hodeidah and Hadhramout governorates. Regarding the investment map, Dr. al-Mitami said that the union and the general authority of investment to prepareit as Yemen is only country in the region that has not such map. "We have prepared first draft of the map. We are e looking for funds tocarry out this draft." al-Mitami said.
