United Arab Emirates allocated on Sunday $40 million to establish and outfit seven technical institutes in various provinces. The sum that comes under the UAE pledges to Yemen at the London Donor Conference was announced during a meeting gathered Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Ibrahim Hajri and the UAE ambassador to Sana'a Abdullah Matar al-Mazroui.The Minister Hajri praised the UAE efforts to strengthen the mutual cooperation and prop up the areas of technical and vocational training.Hajri briefed the UAE ambassador on procedures exerted by the Ministry to prepare the studies, terms of references and to pinpoint the institutes' locations in seven provinces in accordance with professional standards.He affirmed the importance of such projects to improve the outcomes of technical education and vocational training according to the requirements of local and regional labor market.During the meeting, both sides affirmed the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation relations, particularly in technical and vocational training areas and exchange of experience and curriculums.The meeting also reviewed the possibilities to twinning the technical and vocational institutes in both countries in addition to talking about the UAE support to outfit some institutes established lately.The UAE ambassador praised the distinctive relations between the two countries, affirming the importance of technical education sector to support the development process, provide skilled laborers to the labor market and to alleviate poverty.He expressed the UEA readiness to support technical education and vocational training and to improve the performance of the technical education graduates to realize the desired objectives
