President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Saturday chaired a meting for defence ministry leadership and the general staff body where many issues related to efforts of modernization and strengthening combatant t preparedness of the armed forces and defensive capability were discussed.
The meeting also considered a number of evaluative reports on the standard of carrying out the training plan approved by the ministry of defence and the general staff for the year 2008.the meeting discussed aspects of administrative and organizational work at different formations and armed forces and departments of the defence ministry and chairmanship of the general staff.
The meeting also discussed preparations for military activities especially the military parade to be held on 22 May in celebration of the national day for reunification of Yemen.President Saleh directed in the meeting the defence ministry to work for development of training and qualification and improvement of the living life of soldiers and raining the role of monitor and inspection and intelligence action.
