11 agreements of joint cooperation including the establishment of the supreme joint committee to be co-chaired by both countries' Prime Ministers.During the conclusion of the Yemeni-Lebanese talk session co-chaired by Prime Ministers Ali Mujawar and Fuad Saniora, the two sides affirmed that the role of the joint committee would be to frame the institutional work of cooperation and to follow up annually the implementation progress of the signed agreements.The other agreements included three protocols for cooperation in youth and sport, tourism and commercial chambers, four executive programs in areas of education, culture, social affairs and labor and technical education and vocational training and two cooperation agreements in judiciary and documentation in addition to an understanding memorandum in wealth fisheries.During the conclusion of the Yemeni-Lebanese talk session, Mujawar hoped that the signed agreements would contribute to strengthening the bilateral work including the agreement related to the Yemeni-Lebanese joint supreme committee, saying that the follow-up machinery is the most important at the present otherwise the agreements would be nothing but "ink on papers"."No doubt, establishing the joint committee and holding it periodically will contribute to pushing the ties forward," Mujawar added.Mujawar pointed to the significance of setting up a joint council of businessmen in the two countries to activate the coordination process and building joint companies and assisting in developing the trade exchanging, noting to the importance of coordination and information exchanging between the two countries on the achieved steps on the way of joining to the World Trade Organization (WTO).For his part, Saniora pointed to the significance of developing the maritime and land transport to embody the two countries' ambitions to raise the trade exchanging level.Saniora affirmed the necessity of working jointly to secure the appropriate environments to strengthen the private sector work.
