Yemen and donors are to hold a third consultative meeting by the end of February in the capital Sana'a. Representatives from donor countries and organizations as well as secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul Rahman al-Attiyah and deputy president of the World Bank Daniela Grissini will take part in the meeting. Deputy prime minister, Abdul Karim al-Arhabi, who is also Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, said the meeting comes within Yemen's commitment to the requirements of donors including holding meetings between the government and donors. The meeting will assess progress in implementation of agreements in principle agreed between Yemen and donors during the 2006 London Donor Conference. The meeting will also review the report of the half review of the fifth third plan in addition to progress on implementing reforms since the conference which took place in November 2006 till 2008. Reforms Yemen is to implement during 2009-2010 would be reviewed as well. At the meeting, al-Arhabi will highlight economic challenges Yemen is facing amid the global financial turmoil and the government's agenda and development priorities for the next two years.
