Head of the Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum (SCER) Khaled Abdul-Wahab al-Sharif discussed on Wednesday with the UNDP Deputy Country Director Dina Assaf, chief experts of international electoral support project Khadiga Meiro, and the Project Director General Sharif Shaker, the arrangements relevant to implementation of the international electoral support project (IESP) for SCER with cost of three million and 700 thousand euros.Al-Sharif pointed out during the meeting to cooperation and partnership between Yemen and the UNDP in the electoral field. He praised all forms of electoral support provided to Yemen from the friendly countries and donor organizations through IESP for SCER by United Nations Development Program.It is worth-mentioned that IESP aimed to strengthen the capacity of SCER in the process of awareness-raising campaign, support legal and regulatory frameworks for the next parliamentary elections, empowerment of women candidates, and to facilitate access to information related to various phases of the electoral processes. IESP also aims to improve management capacity of women in SCER to carry out works of design, coordination and implementation of programs dealing with gender issues.
