VP attends 4th regional meeting of Global Fund to Fight AIDS

SANA'A, Dec 02 (Saba)- Vice President Abduh- Rabu Mansour Hadi attended
on Saturday the opening ceremony of the 4th regional meeting for the
GlobalFund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria in Middle East. In
the ceremony attended by many senior officials, ministers, parliament members, heads of diplomatic missions and health organizations representatives, Hadi delivered a speech welcoming all the partners in this meeting. He said that this meeting represents means to enhance the partnership among the development parties to achieve good level of cooperation in order to improve life of every where. "The fast changes that happened in world now would put us in front of big challenges which affect seriously health sector," he said. Hadi said that the fund is one of the most important international bodies concerning to achieve the international healthy security because. The fund is working to fight three of the most danger diseases that thereat the human beings, he said. He affirmed importance of drawing new action plans to fight these diseases. Yemen has took many measures that aim to enhancing the national development the priorities in the future reform steps and changes of Yemen. For his part, Minister of Public health and Population Abdul- Karim Rasea said it is important to realize international and regional partnership to fight these diseases became they are threatening all. He expressed thanks for the fund to fight the AIDS in Yemen, with cost of US 14 million. On the other hand, the deputy executive director of the fund Hillien Evance showed the projects achieved by the fund in 136 countries, saying that the fund offered $ 6.6 billion for more than 406 projects. She also talked over the difficulties facing the fund such as the absence of the financers for these projects. For his part, the Moroccan health Minister Mohammed Gap- Allah said the meeting is to discuss diseases which more that 15 million people are suffering from. The director of the executive program for AIDS fighting in health ministry Fawziah Gharama said that the ministry bought modern medical requirement to enable two centers to offer free AIDS test.
