Yemen is to take part in the 83rd meeting of the Arab Social and Economic Council (ASEC) which to start next February in the Egyptian capital Cairo.An economic source said on Wednesday that Industry and Trade Minister Yahya al-Mutawakel would lead Yemen's delegation to the meeting of the ASEC.General director of the Foreign Trade Department at the Ministry Fadhl Muqbil said that the ministerial meeting of the ASEC will discuss resolutions regards to extend the period of customs discounts for Yemeni goods till 2012 instead of 2010.Muqbil added that the meeting will approve matters to improve the Arab integration and enforce economic cooperation between Arab states."The meeting will follow-up the recent economic Kuwait summit's decisions in addition to review the obstacles which restrict the Inter-Arab trade through a trade area of the Arab Free Zone", said Muqbil."The round will also prepare an economic and social file to be reviewed in the upcoming Arab summit which is expected to be held in the Qatari capital Doha".
