delega The meeting dealt with aspects of cooperation between Yemen and Italy particularly in areas such as development, culture, coastguards and combating piracy. The meeting also brought up the latest developments in the regionPresident Saleh praised support Italy provides for development in Yemen, saying the bilateral relationship is deep rooted. For her part, Craxi expressed Italy's keenness to boost ties with Yemen saying the Italian government will continue to support democracy and development in Yemen. Craxi arrived in Sana'a on Monday along with an accompanying delegation on a few-day official visit. Upon arrival, she said the they will hold meetings with a number of Yemeni senior officials that will focus on cooperation on the fight against piracy. Piracy off Somalia's coast and in the Gulf of Aden has recently been active with almost 115 vessels and merchant ships attacked in 2008.
