Yemeni Corporation for Arabian Sea Ports will sign next week a contract
with French specialized company for establishing new Hadramout Trade
Port with the cost of $ 250 million, said Minster of Transport Ibrahim
al-Wazir. Speaking to Saba, al-Wazir affirmed the French
company would take time of eight months for revising and studying
designs for establishing the new port. He added that the ministry is
due to make tenders next month before specialized international
companies for establishing the port. This comes in the frame
work of the government's plans for raising competence of Yemeni ports
and operating them in better economic way. He made it clear that the port, which will be constructed in Broom area, would be built the area of 11,888,200 square meters. The
port would be constructed via two phases and would be assigned for free
trade exchange due to its strategic location in the middle of Asia and
Africa cotenants and between Bab al-Mandab and Hormos Straight. The
ministers expected that the project will create great investment
revival and trade exchange with regional and international countries.
The port will bet the forth strategic ones in addition to Aden,
Hudeidah and Mukalla ports.
