The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) has denied reports on plans to raise the prices of petrol and diesel.
An official source at the company said in a statement to Saba that the official price per liter of petrol is still 125 riyals, and 100 riyals per liter of diesel.
The source said the flow of oil derivatives supply continued to all provinces of the republic as usual.
He called upon the citizens to report any violation of prices or smuggling of fuel to the YPC's operations panel. He also warned that the company would take legal action against any smuggling or price manipulation.
An official source at the prime minister's office had earlier denied reports and rumors by some media outlets about the government's intention to increase the prices of oil derivatives.
The source reassured the that there was "no intention by the government to increase the prices of oil derivatives".
He said that any fuel price hike "is not considered at all at the time being."
"The government is currently studying alternatives to cope with the difficulties caused by the current financial situation, away from any action that would impact on the daily livelihood of citizens or cause any burden on them," the government source said.
