Sentenced Persons Transfer agreement between Yemen, Pakistan approved

The Cabinet approved on Wednesday the agreement of Sentenced Persons Transfer between Yemen and Pakistan signed by the two countries' governments on December 19, 2013. This came in the Cabinet's weekly meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basendwa, which discussed a number of issues and developments on the national scene.
The meeting also touched on the security, economic, political and social challenges faced by Yemen at the current stage and mechanisms to deal with them.
In this regard, the spokesman for the Prime Minister Rajeh Badi said ,in a press conference, that the cabinet listened to two reports submitted by the Defense and Interior Ministers on the latest developments and the steps that have been taken to withdraw the gunmen in the area of Hamdan in Sana'a province.
Badi pointed out that the reports stressed that it would not be allowed for any armed group to station in any place and that the State would impose security and stability in all regions of Yemen.
He noted that the reports confirmed that the situation is reassuring, pointing out that the cabinet stressed the defense and interior ministries to take resolute actions to maintain security and stability.
On the economic area, Badi revealed that the cabinet approved to take urgent actions to address the crisis of diesel and gas.
In this regard, Badi pointed out that the two materials would be provided significantly in markets, noting that three vessels unloaded their cargo of diesel in the port of Aden, and that that diesel crisis would end within 48 hours.
In its meeting, the Cabinet also reviewed a report submitted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to establish 13 industrial zones in Yemen according to the regions system.
The Cabinet agreed to complete the procedures for the ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) in 1996 .
It also approved the formation of a ministerial committee to study a draft contract to establish two industrial zones in Aden and Hodeidah.
Regarding the events in Dalie province , the official spokesman for the Prime Minister said that resolute actions would be taken in the coming days to defuse the crisis once and for all.
