Constitution committee members sworn in before President Hadi

The newly-appointed members of the constitution drafting committee were sworn in on Thursday before President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
After the swearing-in ceremony, President Hadi chaired a meeting of the committee members, where he urged them to draw a new contract of Yemen.
“Now we are developing the country’s new constitution based on the national dialogue conference’s outputs which meet the aspirations and wishes of the whole people", the President said.
He also pointed out that Yemen in fact became a federal state of six regions and each region mini-government and parliament to facilitate the implementation of development programs in line with the modern requirements and away from politics or foreign affairs.
President Hadi added that the federal system is the best for the development and close supervision which will enhance the country’s security, stability and unity.
Hadi stressed the importance of full absorption of the contents of the new era in accordance with good governance and shared responsibility, wealth and power in order to serve Yemen’s population of 25 million people.
He went on to say “The Yemeni unity is the essence as well as justice and equity are key factors through participation in the responsibility and wealth”.
President Hadi issued on 08 March the presidential decree No. 27 for 2014 forming the constitution-drafting committee of 17 members.
