Deputy FM meets UNHCR, ADRA Directors

Deputy Foreign Minister Amir al-Aidarous reviewed here on Tuesday with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) resident representative in Yemen Johannes Van Der Klaauw sides of mutual cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the UNHCR.
During the meeting, al-Aidarous expressed appreciation of Yemeni government for the huge efforts and services offered by the UNHCR in cooperation with the concerned governmental sides, affirming the readiness of the government to provide the overall facilities to ease the commissioner's tasks in Yemen.
In return, Klaauw reviewed the UNHCR programs and activities in Yemen to serve refugees and displaced people in fields of sheltering as well as providing health, education, food, drinking water, and sanitation services.
From the other hand, the deputy minister meets with Gerald Maier, director of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Yemen, and discussed with him the ADRA activities in Yemen related to assisting women and children in remote areas, particularly in the health and basic education fields.
Offering the humanitarian services to refugees in cooperation with the government and the UNHCR was also touched on in the meeting.
The deputy foreign minister noted to the ADRA role in the humanitarian services for the poor of Yemeni families that live in remote places and the refugees' communities as well.
He also asserted the readiness of the government to provide the necessary facilities for the agency in order to carry out its duties in Yemen.
