Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) discussed
here on Monday ways to enhance the mutual health cooperation.
This came in a meeting brought together Ahmed al-Ansi, the Minister of
Public Health and Population and Cedric Schweizer, who heads the ICRC
delegation in Yemen.
Al-Ansi and Schweizer reviewed the health
services provided by the ICRC in Yemen, particularly in Abyan and Sa'ada
governorates and the possibility of activating coordination between the
Ministry and the Committee to raise awareness about the protection of
medical personnel.
The Minister valued highly efforts and
services the ICRC provides in the health and humanitarian fields in the
country, pointing to the importance of devising a future joint plan
enables the Ministry to benefit from the ICRC's experience in the fields
of medical aid, emergency and health workers training.
