Yemen discusses cooperation issues with UNDP and Australia

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Saadi discussed on Wednesday with Deputy Resident Representative of the UNDP in Sana'a a number of issues related to bilateral cooperation between Yemen and the Programme.
The two sides reviewed the ongoing arrangements to hold the first consultative meeting between the Yemeni government and donors on February 24.
In this regard, al-Saadi praised the contributions of the UNDP in mobilizing the regional and international support for Yemen and enhancing the paths of development and stability.
For his part, the UNDP’s official confirmed the readiness of the programme to continue to present all aspects of possible support to Yemen.
On another hand, al-Saadi met with the non-resident Australian ambassador to Yemen Neil Hawkins and discussed with him a number of issues related to the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways of boosting it to serve the common interests.
In the meeting, al-Saadi briefed the Australian ambassador on the current economic developments in the country and the arrangements to hold the first consultative meeting between the Yemeni government and donors, and the preparations for convening the fifth meeting of the Friends of Yemen Group in London on March 7.
Al-Saadi asserted Yemen’s keenness to boost areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, the Australian ambassador confirmed his country’s readiness to provide the necessary support to strengthen the security and stability in Yemen.
