Yemen, GIZ sign €6 mln agreement to support Socotra biodiversity

Yemen and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed here on Monday an agreement to support biodiversity in Socotra Island worth of €6 million. The agreement was signed by Minister of Water and Environment Abdu Razaz and Country Director of GIZ Office in Yemen Michael Nebelung.
It includes supporting the biodiversity in Socotra Island and establishing two new nature reserves in Yemen in addition to supporting the institutional structure in the General Authority for Environmental Protection.
