Yemen and World Bank (WB) discussed here on Monday the development and investment projects the WB will finance in the upcoming future, particularly in education and road fields.
Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa and WB's Regional Director Hart Schafer reviewed the government's actions to combat corruption, and the on going arrangements for the comprehensive national dialogue.
The Premier valued highly the WB's unremitting efforts to help Yemen recover its economy, stressing the government's commitment to facilitate and support the Bank's efforts, including its call to increase investment opportunities and encourage investments in Yemen.
Basindwa talked about the government's efforts to improve the citizens' living standards, who pinned high hopes for better change in all areas.
Schafer accented the WB's keenness on offering all assistances to improve Yemen's development and increase investment opportunities in all fields in Yemen.
The international community is watching carefully the situation in Yemen, and the UN Security Council's meeting in Sana'a shows how Yemen is important in the region, he said.
