Gulf mediation to end crisis in Yemen announced

Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States have announced a Gulf mediation which can be regarded, to some extent, acceptable by the two political parties in Yemen. The gulf announcement came in a press release held at the conclusion of GCC Member States' extraordinary meeting which was chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The Gulf officials called on all parties in Yemen to return to a national dialogue in order to end to the current crisis and maintain the nation's unity and security.
In addition, the GCC Foreign Ministers affirmed their countries' support for Yemen's security and stability.
