PM launches comprehensive survey for rural water projects

Prime Minister Ali Mujawar inaugurated here on Saturday a comprehensive survey for water and sanitation projects in rural areas throughout the country.
The survey will be implemented on 25 December 2010 to 22 February 2011. During the inauguration, Mujawar talked to the heads and members of supervisory and executive committees, pointing to the importance of the survey to draw a map of the services and interferences of this significant sector.The premier pointed out that the survey will be a beginning to set up an integrated database for this sector, urging the committees to work together in conducting the survey efficiently.The Premier also made a phone call to Marib and Mahrah governors, in which he listened to the governorates' preparations for carrying out the survey with its entire technical and field components.The survey worth YR 192.7 million includes 4,838 projects in 20 governorates. It will be implemented by 67 field teams and 42 field directors. The survey is financed jointly by the General Authority for Rural Water, Social Fund for Development (SFD), Dutch government and UNICEF.
