Specialized penal court studies appeal of 12 Somali pirates

The Specialized Penal Court started on Sunday looking at the appeal of 12 Somali pirates who were already sentenced by a primary verdict to death for 6 pirates and 10 year imprisonment to the other six pirates.
The indictment statement indicated that the convicted attacked on 26 April 2009 the Yemeni oil tanker "Qana" en route to Aden from Mukalla killing a sailor, rendering another one missing and injuring four others.
The court postponed the session up to December 5th for further study
