The Gaz proom facility, affiliated with the Yemen Gas Company, in Hadhramaut Governorate, was officially inaugurated this morning following the completion of maintenance and rehabilitation work carried out over the past period. The work aimed to improve operational efficiency and enhance the facility's readiness to resume its vital activity of distributing domestic gas.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Al-Shamasi, who expressed his great pleasure at this national achievement. He considered the rehabilitation and operation of the facility a strategic step towards enhancing the stability of vital services provided to citizens, particularly in the domestic gas sector. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to supporting these vital facilities and continuously improving their operational readiness.
The Minister also praised the efforts of the Director General of the Yemen Gas Company Office in Hadhramaut Governorate, Eng. Nidal Salem bin Hamel, who played a pivotal role in daily field monitoring, along with the management of the Gazprom facility manager, Eng. Mohammed Ali Baqrawan, who managed the operational and technical process with high efficiency.
In his speech at the ceremony, the Director General of the Yemen Gas Company (SAFER), Engineer Mohsen Wahit, expressed his pride in this national project, noting that the achievements of the Gazprom facility are the result of collective effort and continuous coordination between various administrative and technical levels. He emphasized the importance of continuing periodic maintenance and technical rehabilitation to maintain operational performance and provide citizens with the highest quality service. In a brief speech, the Director General of the Brom-Maifa District, Dr. Khaled Al-Juhi, emphasized that the resumption of operations of the facility represents a strong boost to public services in the district and significantly alleviates citizens' difficulties in obtaining domestic gas. Following the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister and the Director General of SAFER, Engineer Mohsen Wahit, conducted a comprehensive field tour of the facility's various facilities, including the scales, fire tanks, and operating sites. Accompanied by Engineer Nidal bin Hamel, they reviewed the details of the technical work carried out and praised the quality and technical precision of the work. The tour also announced the operation of the main fire tank and the provision of modern safety and security equipment. This is part of the facility's plan to enhance prevention and emergency response standards, ensuring the protection of workers and the facility as a whole, and raising the level of operational readiness and safety.
Maintenance work included the installation of 10 new scales, in addition to the existing 10, doubling production capacity from 8,000 to 16,000 cylinders per day. The maintenance work also included the restoration of gas tanks, the fire and safety system, and the fire tank, as well as the modernization of the facility's filling lines and chain system.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a number of outstanding maintenance team workers, along with the cleaning staff, were honored in recognition of their dedication and devotion to ensuring the success of the work and enhancing the facility's readiness.
The facility's leadership emphasized that the next phase will witness regular distribution and increased readiness, with strict adherence to safety and quality standards in providing services to citizens. The ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate for Technical Affairs, Eng. Amin Saeed Barzeeq, the Director of the Public Works and Roads Office in Hadhramaut Governorate, Eng. Saleh Al-Omari, the Director of the Human Resources Office at the Yemen Gas Company (Safer), Mr. Osama Al-Shami, the Deputy Director of the Yemen Gas Company Office in Hadhramaut Governorate, Mr. Aref Al-Khalifi, the Deputy Director of the Gazprom Facility, Mr. Abdullah Bamzahem, and a number of administrative, military and security figures, media professionals, and representatives of relevant authorities.
