UNHCR praises Yemen receiving refugees

Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for Refugees Affairs Ali Muthana met on Wednesday with UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres on the sidelines of the 61st session of the Executive Committee of the UNHCR Program.
During the meeting, Guterres hailed the level of relations and coordination between Yemen and the UNHCR, affirming full support for Yemen speech delivered in the opening of the session.He said that the UNHCR is working hard to persuade the international community to share burdens falling on Yemen as a result of refugees, praising efforts of the Yemeni government in receiving big numbers of refugees and showed willingness to visit Yemen in November.For his part, Muthana affirmed concern of Yemen to reinforce and improve cooperation relations with the UNHCR, calling the international community to further provide support for the Yemeni government on refugees.
He signaled the significance of taking care of locals surrounding refugees' camps and providing basic services for them within the framework of development support in those areas.
