The Cabinet approved on Tuesday the
report of Minister of Local Administration on the results of the internal
elections of the local councils in the provinces and districts in the country
,which took place in May 5,2010.
The Cabinet agreed to the
secretary-generals of the local councils in the provinces and districts, who
have been nominated by Minister of Local Administration to fill these positions
in compliance with the Articles (21 b and 63 b) of the local authority law No.
4 for 2000 and according to the list included in the report.The Cabinet instructed
the Minister of Local Administration to inform the Capital Mayor and Governors
of the provinces on the final outcomes of the elections.The report dealt with
aspects related to the implementation of these elections at the level of 21
provinces and 333 districts, indicating that 21 council the number of local
councils that the elections could not be done in 21 councils by 6 percent of
the total number of the councils, in addition to the councils where the
elections partially carried out.The rate of change in the administrative bodies
in the provinces is 14 percent in the secretary-generals and 30 percent in the
heads of the specialized committees, while the rate of change was 21 percent in
the secretary-generals of districts and 28 percent in the heads of specialized
committees, the report pointed out.
