Al-Shaib Book Store: First Under- secretary of Arabi magazine in
Hadhramaut which contributed to Mukalla poll in 1965 with Mr Zabal and

In our life we are going to have some benchmarks about whome we are heedless , but if they disappeared we wonder how and why? Although it did not exist when he was brought to our attention.
But Alsahib Book Store is not just a Book Store, but a source of cultural enlightenment for half a century ago. It is one of the libraries that were able to create «something» in the heart of mukalla people specifically. The image of the white kaftan man (the owner of the Book Store) remained in memory.
The next dialogue reveals life experience and generation memory .. Such generation that nurtured the arts , science and knowledge of the Sultan Book Store , Al-Shai Book Store and the Book Store of Ahmed Said Haddad ..of them Mohammad Abdul Kader Bafaqeeh,Mohammed Abdualqader Bamatraf ,, Hussein Bin Mohamed Albar,the phototgrapher Ahmed Bajennid and a group of intellectuals in Mukalla, which embraces the sea and the mountains.
Abdullah Alsafi and a place story :
The owner of A'-Shaib Book store Mr Alwi Abdallah Alsafi says, : I have come to Mukalla from Rubat Baishn when I was sixteen years old, but my father was from Abyssinia had a sum of money to shop in Al-Mukalla commercially because he was an agent of some Yemenis in foodstuffs, especially maize in the days famine . Having studied in Sudan and married early and I was the first son i, and stayed in Rabat for four years, then returned to Abyssinia and then get a company in Saudi Arabia and died there.
As for the opening of hisbook store in Al-Mukalla ,Mr Abduallah bin Alwi have said : «The first one who encouraged me was the late Dr. Mohammad Abdul Kader Bafaqeeh and Khaled Abu Bakr Baraheem. it was was opened in 1957 .. Its inception was in office equipment, then started communications with Egypt and Lebanon and before that,I used to bring books from Abdualatef Abadi Book Store in Aden.
> What are the most prominent Arab book stores that you contacted?
--Almuthana Book Store in Iraq , al-Halabi and Arab Thought But my major contact was with Lebanon Book store.
> With regard to domestic newspapers?
-- Of course there are Altaliah newspapers,Alraed, Al-jamaheer and Alrai Alam and certainly the demand of the people in that period was considerable . I addition to newspapers published from Aden such as Anadhah, Fatat Aljazeera, Alayam and Alraqeeb.
> The current location of the Book Store How did you get it?
-- Sultan Ghalib played a big role in obtaining the land lot of the book Store
> Relationship with the offfical frameworks ?
-- I was associated with Mukalla secondary school and a number of government departments, particularly the Department of Education,to supply them with the books for a minor commission .
> Was it the first Book Store?
-- Certainly .. Because Mr, Ahmed Said Haddad was selling Egyptian newspapers, and when opened his office, he worked on the development of it.
Agent in the Hadramawt .. People's Book Store
I have been appointed as an agent of the Kuwaiti Arab magazine in Hadramout .. By the way, Adelegation from Kuwaiti Arab magazine visited Al-Mukalla .. The city was small at that time, in the sixties of last century. We toured the city of Mukalla.They conducted a poll in the city. Among them were Mr Alzabaland MrAwskar metry.
